On the Horizon
As in the previous weeks, investors are anxiously awaiting the Fed’s decision regarding tapering. With every dovish word from a Fed official, investors gain hope and markets post gains; with every hawkish comment suggesting a closer tapering, investors lose confidence and markets suffer losses. In the coming weeks, investors can expect further news, and further market fluctuations surrounding the Fed’s tapering decision. Based on the meeting minutes released this week, it seems that the markets may need to brace for a December taper; however, the Fed has surprised investors in the past, and may do so again, holding off until economic data evinces stronger signs of recovery.
