Now this is interesting; new technology is allowing home buyers to view homes without the seller or realtor being present.  It works like this, buyers simply enter a code on the door of the prospective property they would like to see, they then receive a text message containing an access code enabling them to enter the property.  This eliminates the need to schedule an appointment with a seller or a realtor.  Amazing.  One must ask oneself: Why hasn’t this been thought of sooner???

This is just the viewing element of the Opendoor offer which aims to change how property is bought and sold.  Everyone is using mobile technology all day long, every day.  The Opendoor offer is capitalizing on this.  Sellers list their properties online and the company decides if it will buy it from them.  If it does, the home will then be marketed to prospective buyers, who are able to view the home at a time that is convenient for them using the code entry system.  You can also make an offer to buy online.  In essence you could shop for and buy your home without ever physically meeting your realtor.  This may be a rather detached and impersonal way to make such an important acquisition for some but it very well may be a glimpse into the future of real estate.  Interesting.
